Screencasting with My Mac

If you are a teacher,I used to be one,and you want to show your people how to do things with the computer, then using ScreenFlow to capture your video off your computer screen is a great step forward with showing how to do things.

I have been using various screen capture applications and ScreenFlow is the one that I recommend. I paid for and used iShowU which was good,Then there was SnapzPro which was OK too,but then Don McAllister of ScreencastsOnline told me about ScreenFlow and I tried it and loved it. Well worth the $99 because of the editing capabilities you get along with the screen capture.

ScreenFlow makes it really easy to highlight a click or a window with zooming into what you want to show, and further highlights the action with magnification of the area and blurring of the not needed parts. I like the way I can record it as I go then easily chop  out sectioins that I don’t want by using the marking of the in and out in the time line. It does the ripple delete which again makes it quick and easy. No cutting out and then having to slide clips across. I don’t use the audio actions in ScreenFlow because I like to use Amadeus to work with audio but they are there if you want them.
